The survey work passes through
several stages started from the work assignment and ended with the delivery
process as per the following:
This stage is divided into two
- Administrative preparation: entails knowing the work place area and
the transportations needed whether the use of 4WD, plane or even the sea
transport, as well as providing accommodation and food for the work team.
- Technical preparation: In this stage, the work execution requirements including the data available from previous maps, aerial photographs and control marks in the area, as well as outlining the devices and the number of teams needed for the work execution, are reviewed.
In this stage, the work duties are
distributed among members of the field survey team where the execution plan
is set up for work commencement. Normally, the work is distributed into
field work and office work. In field work the necessary measurements and
field observations are conducted taking into account the importance of work
self-review whether via closing the work at a control point with known
coordinates or even measuring test points in the work area; As for the
office work, it includes downloading data into computer, analyzing
observation data and ensure validity of the outcomes.
Confirmation Stage: In this stage, an independent checking is
carried out for the work by a technical specialist outside the team members
who conducted the work or via the computing cell, which is part of the field
survey section with a responsibility to check the correctness of
calculations and survey work outcomes.
Delivery Stage: is where the whole project is delivered to
the concerned authority.
