INTRODUCTION

NSA established the "Institute of Topographical Sciences (ITS)" in September 1995 to develop the skills of its staff and conduct National Diploma course in Geomatics (Survey & Mapping). This Institute is affiliated to U.K. based Edexcel Enterprise Ltd and is an approved Edexcel center to run award BTEC diploma in Geomatics.

In addition to 2 years diploma course. the Institute is running few short term courses in the filed of Gemoatics. A short term course can be designed and tailored to meet specific requirement of the client, provided the strength of the course reaches to a minimum of five candidates.

Actual cost for short courses is worked out depending on the number of students, duration and contents of the course. Some estimated figures are listed below with the course details.

All courses are full time regular courses and student has to do his own arrangements for accommodation and messing nearby localities. The students are provided free of cost facilities of library, internet, computer and technical lab for the full course duration.

Aim

The aim of the Institute of Topographical Sciences is to provide technical training for Omanis and People from GCC Countries in the filed of gematics and its related subjects such as Topographic Surveying, Photogrammetry, Cartography, Hydrographic Survey, Technical English Language and Mathematics.
